Truth, Dare, or Lesbian

A new comedy special
By Emily Drossell

At a sleepover in the early 2000s, a girl proposed we play "truth, dare, or lesbian." We all agreed...and then no one chose "lesbian." I left the next morning having missed out on not only my first queer experience, but the chance to actually play the game (and figure out what in the world the "lesbian" option entails). But never again! In this new musical comedy cabaret, I present my truths, perform some dares, and delight in the many interpretations of the lesbian option as I respond in song to prompts given by you, the audience!

With a war-torn nation all too ready to believe that her dark childhood was instead the idealized fantasy from her book, Louisa struggles to maintain a grasp of the reality, as she sees her own depictions of "Meg," "Jo," "Beth," and "Amy" challenging the very essence of who she and her sisters truly are.
